Charles-Edouard Lambert

Charles-Edouard Lambert specialises in litigation and commercial arbitration.

He has extensive experience in assisting domestic and international clients in complex disputes involving civil law, commercial law, banking law, corporate law and financial law.

He developed a niche knowledge in recognition and enforcement in Belgium of foreign judgments and in setting aside arbitral awards.

He also practices Supreme Court litigation, especially in civil and commercial matters.

His experience include a multi-billion euro class action against a bank related to the financial crisis of 2007, a class action against an airline company related to delays and cancellation of flights, proceedings against a pharmaceutical company related to the performance of a COVID-19 vaccine agreement in the EU or the recognition of the rights of a public creditor against a bankrupt Belgian steel company.

Since 2014, he is an assistant lecturer at the Université libre de Bruxelles for the courses of Introduction to Civil Law, Obligations and Special Contracts. This enhances his strong practice in litigation and commercial arbitration in relation to contracts, torts, remedies, evidence and quasi-contracts.

Charles-Edouard is admitted to the Brussels bar and to the New York bar.

He is a member of the ‘under-40’ chapter of the Belgian Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (CEPANI40) and the New York Bar Association (NYSBA).

Charles-Edouard Lambert regularly publishes articles and speaks at seminars about contract law and tort law.
