John Bigwood was a judge substitute at the Commercial Court of Nivelles from 1985 to 1990 and judge substitute to the Brussels Court of Appeal from 1998 to 2002. He resigned from his duties when he was elected to the chair of the French-language section of the Brussels Bar.
