BRUSSELS, January 25, 2023 – Simont Braun announced that the firm has appointed Tom Swinnen [1] as Managing Partner. Together with Joan Carette [2], Managing Partner since March 2022, they will form Simont Braun’s new managing duo in charge of all matters of day-to-day management.
Tom Swinnen [1] (39) has over 15 years of experience and specialises in Corporate M&A. His practice concentrates mainly on transactional work, with a strong focus on private equity. In addition, he also acts as a trusted advisor for many entrepreneurial families and privately held businesses.
Joan Carette [2] is managing partner of Simont Braun since March 2022. She has 20 years of experience in FinTech, payments, e-money, AML and more generally banking and financial services and the prudential supervision of financial institutions. Joan worked as a regulator in the prudential supervision department of the FSMA, and in Belgian and international law firms for over 15 years.
