Simont Braun is delighted to announce the appointment of Tom Swinnen as partner in the Corporate M&A department. Tom Swinnen brings more than 15 years of experience acquired in leading law firms in Brussels.
Tom’s practice includes advising both national and international clients within the context of Corporate M&A. His practice concentrates mainly on transactional work, with a strong focus on private equity. In addition, he also acts as a trusted advisor for many entrepreneurial families and privately held businesses. Over the years, Tom has gathered valuable expertise in venture capital and private equity transactions, cross-border deals, distressed M&A, management buy-outs and buy-ins, corporate reorganisations, and real estate transactions.
“I am delighted to join Simont Braun, and to boost the further development of the M&A and Private Equity capabilities of the firm’s established Corporate M&A and Capital Markets practice,” says Tom Swinnen. “This is an exciting challenge, but a logical step. The environment our clients are operating in only becomes more complex, clients are looking for real legal expert advice and industry knowledge. The fact that the firm has, in addition to a strong corporate M&A team, so much legal and industry knowledge in house, will allow me to serve my clients even better.”
“We are very pleased to have Tom on board” comment Béatrice Thieffry and Steven Callens, Simont Braun’s managing partners. “His vast experience and ambition will be drivers to enhance Simont Braun’s Corporate M&A team capabilities.”
Besides his work as a business lawyer, Tom is a welcomed speaker at corporate law and M&A conferences and is active as an academic at the University of Ghent (Belgium).
Tom is recommended for Corporate M&A by all leading legal directories.
Welcome on board, Tom!
