Corporate M&A and Capital Markets
Our Corporate, M&A and Capital Markets Team is the firm's largest department with around 20 lawyers covering all aspects of corporate law and providing a wide range of services. In a rapidly evolving regulatory environment, Simont Braun’s lawyers constantly seek to acquire in-depth knowledge of new legal developments ahead of their implementation.
Paul Alain Foriers is also one of the four legal experts who were appointed by the Belgian Minister of Justice to modernise and recodify the Belgian Companies Code entered into force in May 2019.
Simont Braun represents a diverse range of Belgian and foreign companies, as well as shareholders, directors, executives and other stakeholders in various sectors. Our lawyers advise on all matters of corporate law, private and public M&A, corporate restructuring, capital market transactions, joint ventures, private equity, structuring of shareholders’ groups, corporate housekeeping, etc.
Simont Braun has also developed specific expertise in advising listed and unlisted companies on all aspects of corporate governance, shareholder information and rights, and the obligations and responsibilities of directors and executives.
We seek to build strong and long-term relationships with our clients and to obtain a complete understanding of their global strategy in order to offer pragmatic solutions tailored to their specific needs.
Clients highly value the quality and efficiency of our assistance, our tradition of discretion and the high level of partner involvement. Our clients also appreciate our creative approach and leading technical expertise, which is reflected in our yearly rankings in Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and the IFLR.
Simont Braun’s Corporate, M&A and Capital Markets team works closely with the firm’s other teams, such as tax, labour law and real estate, in order to provide integrated solutions that fully meet the various issues arising in the context of corporate transactions.
Some of our partners are non-executive board members of listed and non-listed companies, an opportunity to gain a pragmatic insight and to provide clients with more concrete and business-oriented guidance.
Simont Braun is recognised for its expertise in Corporate M&A by the leading legal guides: Chambers & Partners Global and Europe (Band 4), Legal 500 (Tier 3) and IFLR 1000 (Tier 3).
