Simont Braun successfully assisted the lead investor, Ring Capital, in a Series A funding round of €5 million in Soil Capital, a Belgium-based company focusing on regenerative agriculture.
Ring Capital, an investment firm focused on (tech) impact investing, took the lead and invested in the Series A funding round of €5 million in Soil Capital Belgium a Belgium-based company developing pioneering innovations in the agriculture industry.
The farming practices developed by Soil Capital allow farmers to store carbon, produce abundant and healthy food, increase biodiversity and improve their livelihoods.
In 2020, Soil Capital launched the first certified agricultural carbon payment programme in Europe, rewarding farmers who fix the planet. The Soil Capital Carbon programme calculates, certifies and monetises the reductions of greenhouse gas emissions and the capture of carbon in the soil, allowing farmers to earn new revenue for improving their climate impact.
Simont Braun assisted the lead investor, Ring Capital, in the legal and tax due diligence and the negotiation of the transaction documentation, and is thrilled to have contributed to the positive outcome of this funding round.
