With her experience in corporate M&A, in addition to in-depth expertise in contract law and commercial law, Maïka will further strengthen Simont Braun’s capabilities in these key areas.
Maïka Bernaerts specialises in a broad range of commercial and corporate matters, including M&A transactions, fundraising, corporate governance, stock option plans and complex contracts. She acts as a primary advisor to her clients, providing comprehensive legal guidance. Her experience spans cooperative companies, start-ups in the SaaS sector, and established national and international companies across diverse markets.
Since 2016, Maïka has been a teaching assistant and associate researcher at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), publishing numerous articles on corporate law, particularly focusing on cooperative companies. Her academic excellence, recognised by prestigious awards such as the Jean-Jacques Boels Prize (2024), the Nadine Watté Prize (2017), and the Erasmus Prize (2015), along with her experience at other leading Belgian law firms, enhances Simont Braun’s ability to provide cutting-edge legal solutions and reinforces our firm’s commitment to excellence in corporate and transaction law.
