Joris Beckers

Joris Beckers is a specialist in real estate transactions. He assists and advises both real estate developers,  investors and occupiers throughout the different phases of the real estate cycle, ranging from the structuring of real estate (re)developments and investments, the acquisition of real estate (including real property rights such as usufruct, long lease, right to build), the drafting of occupancy-related contracts (lease, disposal, temporary occupancy), and other real estate-related contracts (a.o. framework, option, JV, shareholder agreements etc.)  and the sale of real estate.

Furthermore, Joris focusses on ESG and, in particular, the impact of the rapidly increasing volume of legislation concerning sustainability, both on a federal and regional level, on the different actors in the real estate sector.

Joris also represents clients both in court and arbitration proceedings in Belgium.

In addition to his real estate expertise, Joris has a significant background in commercial contracts, with a particular focus on distribution, franchising and unfair market practices.

Joris is also a part-time teaching assistant at the law faculty of the University of Leuven (KUL).
