Renaud van Melsen
Renaud van Melsen specialises in administrative law, constitutional law and public law.
He has gained broad experience in the fields of public procurement, urban development and environmental law. He also has in-depth knowledge of all questions regarding the liability of public authorities and local tax regimes.
In these areas of expertise, he regularly advises both public authorities and private actors, and assists them in litigation procedures before the Constitutional Court, the Council of State and the judicial courts. Renaud also regularly handles cases before the Supreme Court and, hence, gathered significant expertise before all three Belgian higher courts of law.
Renaud van Melsen is the author of many publications in public and administrative law. He has been assistant lecturer in administrative law at the UNamur university and a member of the editing committee of the bilingual journal “Chroniques de droit public – Publiekrechtelijke kronieken”. He is also a member of the Commission for Access to Administrative Documents of the Brussels institutions, and of the Regional Commission for Development in town planning matters.
